The difference being a resignation in fact is when <br />someone physically tenders a written resignation to the Commission. I would once again <br />remind all of you as legal counsel that there is an on going investigation so be certain that <br />any information that you are putting on the public record is something you are certain of <br />and feel comfortable with. <br />GERALD UJDAK: I received a telephone call after Mr. Talley left from <br />Jeanette Roland, the former Chairmen of the Republican Party, asking what was going <br />on. I told her that something had happened and that Mr. Talley was asked to resign. At <br />which time she asked how in the world did a Republican get appointed in a Democratic <br />County? <br />CHERYL GREENE: Mr. Ujdak, I would once again caution you because this is a <br />public record. <br />GERALD UJDAK: I told Ms. Roland, that the Commission is by partisan and <br />simply hire the individual best suited for the job. <br />CHERYL GREENE: I have received no written correspondence from anyone <br />threatening any type of legal action nor have I received any further follow up from the <br />County Commissioners nor any of the agencies involved in this matter. It maybe that <br />nothing more will ever come of this investigation. <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I would like a motion that states that the <br />Commission acknowledges Mr. Talley's absence from his position. <br />CHERYL GREENE: The Commission should acknowledge his absence and <br />accept it as a resignation. <br />JERRY WEINER: I move that the Commission acknowledge Mr. Talley's <br />absence and accept it as a resignation. <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: I second the motion. <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Jerry Weiner, being seconded by Martha Choitz and carried <br />with Catherine Hostetler and Gerald Ujdak in favor, Richard Morrison abstaining and <br />15 <br />
