Regarding the Scottish Rites and Masonic Temple, we have a meeting with them set for
June 1, 2000.

These three properties will be tabled until June 19, 2000 to allow these meetings to occur.

B. 50157 Clover Road, Lowry Farmhouse

Mr. Talley read the report into the minutes.

J. EDWARD TALLEY: The staff recommends that the proposed local landmark at
50157 Clover Road be sent to the County Council with a favorable recommendation.

RHONDA SAUNDERS: The staff has received a letter from the owner stating that
she is against landmarking because of the restrictions it will place on her heirs and the
cost of having to continually apply for permits.

JOHN OXIAN: An owner consent form is sent to each owner of a proposed local
landmark as an attempt to expedite the process, however, it is not a requirement for
landmarking. The Commission can and has proceeded with out owner consent if the
building is important enough or in danger.

RHONDA SAUNDERS: The owner seemed very interested in becoming a landmark
during the Staff's first meeting with her, however, by our second conversation she
seemed turned off by the permit and fee processes and the restrictions it would place on
her heirs.
ksl(
MARTHA CHOITZ: Does the landmarking include any outbuildings?

RHONDA SAUNDERS: The owner also asked if outbuildings would be under
landmark designation and restrictions. I told her that all outbuildings would be included
in the landmarking of the property.

JOHN OXIAN: How many acres are to be included in the landmarking of the
property?

RHONDA SAUNDERS: I will have to research the number of acres.

JOANN SPORLEDER: The staff needs to include all outbuildings, acres, land
description and full legal description of the property.

JOHN OXIAN: I suggest that the issue be tabled until June 19, 2000 so that the
Commission members can go out and survey the property and the staff can fill in the
needed information.

E:1
