EDWARD TALLEY: The staff has furnished Mr. Herceg's organization with the <br />National Parks Service Bulletins on tuck -pointing and cleaning. <br />JOHN OXIAN: The Commission will table the lighting issue for the courthouse <br />cupola until June 19, 2000, to allow the State Historic Preservation Office to review the <br />situation. <br />To expedite matters and allow the owner of 229 Navarre to get home at a decent time lets <br />suspend the agenda and hear their application next. <br />B. 2000-0427, 229 Navarre, rear yard fence. <br />Mr. Talley read the staff report. <br />J. EDWARD TALLEY: The Staff recommends that this application be approved as <br />submitted. <br />MARTHA CHOITZ: I move that the application for a Stockade style privacy <br />fence at 229 Navarre Street be approved. <br />RICHARD HELMUS: I second the motion. <br />JOHN OXIAN: I am going to vote against this application. I have always been <br />opposed to privacy fences; they do not belong in historic districts. <br />After due consideration, the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by Martha Choitz, being seconded by Richard Helmus and carried <br />with John Oxian voting against, the proposed Certificate of Appropriateness for <br />installation of a rear yard privacy fence at 229 Navarre, South Bend, Indiana, be <br />approved as recommended by staff. <br />C. 2000-0414,218 W. Washington, sign. <br />J. EDWARD TALLEY: The owner of the building has requested that this <br />application be tabled until June 19, 2000. <br />CATHERINE HOSTETLER: I move to table application 2000-0414 until June 19, <br />2000. <br />
