Elbode <br />The Colfax Group <br />218 West Washington Street, Suite 1100 <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Dear Michael: <br />Please find attached a second option for the Old Kent letters to be placed on the East <br />wall of the 218 West Washington Building. This option was suggested as it will place <br />the letters above the roof line and eliminate the mounting renovations in the front face <br />of the building. Also a set of letters mounted above the roof is historically accurate as <br />many gothic buildings in this period put signs mounted on the roof. We appreciate <br />your suggestion to put the letters above the roof and agree that this placement Will work <br />well to preserve the historical integrity of the building and at the same time allow Old <br />Kent Bank to better establish itself in the South Bend community. <br />Please proceed with this request to be discussed at the June meeting. I have also <br />enclosed copies of the Old Kent Kalamazoo building to illustrate how the letters look <br />on their building for reference. <br />If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call meat (616) 784-5711.
