Arthur Austin was the son of <br />William Austin, pioneer of St. Joseph County. Arthur and his father purchased this property in <br />1899, when it was referred to as 1241 Vistula. Arthur Austin, a milk dealer, resided at this <br />address until 1905 when he sold the house to Elizabeth and E.F. Good. Mr. & Mrs. Good <br />resided at 1321 Vistula, renting 1241 Vistula to their son, Walter Good. The Good's owned the <br />house until 1946 when it was sold to Floyd and Edith Cook, who in turn sold it to Elmer <br />Hedges two years later. Mr. Hedges lost the property the following year in a foreclosure at <br />which time the property was purchased by Keith Morrison. Mr. Morrison immediately sold the <br />house to Dewey Emrick. Mr. Emrick owned the house until 1955 when he sold it to Jacob <br />Resnick. Mr. Resnick sold the house in 1956 to Lawrence and Kathryn Copenhaver. Mr. and <br />Mrs. Copenhaver resided at this address until 1988 when they sold it to the current owner, Mary <br />Lou Sanders. <br />
