Request for Certificate of Appropriateness <br />South Bend Historic Preservation Commission <br />1012 Riverside Drive <br />We would like to request a Certificate of Appropriateness for the following renovations <br />and additions to our newly purchased house at 1012 Riverside Drive: �d k <br />A. We wish to renovate the back bi-level terraced patious ni g in-kind materials. <br />It has eroded and the paver bricks have tumbled down the terrace wall. We y, , <br />wish to install a cement retaining wall to restore the terrace wall, that will then <br />be faced with pavers. The pavers in the rest of the patio will be removed, the <br />two patio terraces releveled, and the pavers put back in place. We will simply -,-"., <br />imply_ f' <br />be oring and repairing what is already in place. <br />B. We would like to add a gas grill to the patio behind the house to be installed <br />just next to the kitchen door (see attached drawing, item B, and glossy <br />brochure). <br />C. We would also like to pave the dirt area behind out garage and leading out to <br />the patio with pavers if enough are available through the city. If enough <br />pavers are not available, we wish to put a cement pad in this area (see attached <br />drawing, item Q. <br />As part of our general renovation, we have already obtained approval to remove, restore, <br />and replace the iron fence on the north side of the patio.
