MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />of the <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Monthly Meeting County Commissioner's <br />7:30 p.m. Conference Room <br />Monday, October 18, 1999 7th Floor County -City Building <br />I. Call to Order <br />John Oxian, president of the Commission, brought the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Commission members present were: John Oxian, Richard Helmus, Martha Choitz, Jerry Weiner <br />and Joann Sporleder. <br />Commission staff present were: Ed Talley, Director and Aladean DeRose, Council. <br />Also attending the meeting were: Carol Albright, Les Loechen, Jason Little, Andrea Jones, Tim <br />Van Overberghe, Duke Jones, don Kwiatkowski, Tim Lykowski, Don Sporleder, Gina <br />DeLaurelle and Ann McFadden. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificate of Appropriateness Applications <br />B. 1. 1999-0910-2-226 E. Bartlett, rear yard privacy fence. <br />Mr. Talley presented the staff report and circulated photographs. He also noted that the owner, <br />Mr. Little, was present. Mr. Oxian asked why the owner wants a privacy fence instead of a <br />chain link fence. Mr. Little stated that he wanted more privacy since the back yard was <br />adjacent to two alleys. Mrs. Choitz moved to approve the six foot tall Homestead style privacy <br />fence around the rear yard, as pictured in the application. Mr. Helmus seconded the motion. <br />The motion passed with Mr. Oxian abstaining. <br />2. 1999-0915-1721 E. Wayne, sliding glass door. <br />Mr. Talley presented the staff report and circulated photographs. He also noted that the owner, <br />Carol Albright, was present. Mrs. Albright's contractor noted that the existing windows are in <br />fact fixed storm doors. Mr. Talley reported that he had met with the contractor, on site, to <br />discuss the project, during which time it was decided that the proposed alteration would not <br />change the existing appearance of the fixed doors. Mr. Weiner moved to approved the <br />application as recommended by staff. Mrs. Sporleder seconded the motion. The motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />
