Mr. Gilmer was an <br />attorney with the South Bend firm of Shively, Gilmer, Arnold and Doror. Mr. Gilmer resided <br />there until 1927 when he sold the house to Leslie and Helen Morehouse. Mr. Morehouse was <br />the editor of the South Bend Tribune, he and his wife resided here until 1937 when they sold <br />the house to Duncan O'Coner, a superintendent at South Bend Lathe. Mr. & Mrs. O'Coner <br />lived in this house until 1954 when it was sold to Everett Hinman, who sold it two years later to <br />Lester E. Menzie, an agent for Whitcomb & Keller. Mr. & Mrs. Menzie resided here until <br />1973 when they sold the house to Kenneth Grant. Mr. Grant lived in this house until his death <br />in 1999 when it was inherited by Allen and Noreen Howard, who sold the property to Mike <br />Keen later that same year. <br />
