STATEMENT OF POSITION <br />432 SOUTH LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD <br />The Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend & St. Joseph County wishes to <br />make clear for the record the action it has taken in regard to the nomination of the Reis Furniture <br />Building, located at 432 South Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Referring to The Historic Preservation Plan of South Bend & St. Joseph County, Second <br />Edition, April 1995: <br />Page 16: Section entitled "Policy For Declaring Poorly Maintained, <br />Endangered or Scarce Resources As Local <br />Landmarks." <br />"Any building, structure, or site listed on the city or county survey that has not <br />been adequately maintained for one year or more, or is determined as endangered or <br />scarce by the Historic Preservation Commission may be nominated for local landmark sta- <br />tus under, the following policy: <br />
