PROPOSED CHANGE <br />Applicant is proposing to install a double -sided business sign in the front yard. The sign <br />stands a total of 5 -feet -five -inches above the ground, is six -feet wide and is mounted on 4x4 -inch <br />wooden posts. The sign is lit from the ground with four 12 -volt landscape spot lights. (See <br />drawing). <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS STAFF REPORT <br />STANDARDS-(Concemine both Darts A & B) <br />Preservation Guidelines for the Lincolnway East Local Historic District: <br />b) .... the guidelines for this District follow the Rehabilitation model... <br />STANDARDS CONTINUED - (A) <br />I. Environment <br />I.A.Required <br />New plant material ... signs, and benches shall be compatible with the character of the neighbor- <br />hood in size, scale, material and color. <br />I.A.Prohibited <br />Signs, streetlights ... which are out of scale or inappropriate to the neighborhood may not be <br />used. <br />RECOMMENDATION -(A) <br />Staff suggests a favorable recommendation. There already exists a number of commer- <br />cial signs compatible with the one that is proposed in this instance. <br />E. Mechanical System: <br />Systems shall be placed in areas that will result in the least possible alteration to the <br />structural integrity and physical appearance of the building. The rear of the building is the pre- <br />ferred location for these mechanical systems.. <br />
