PROPOSED CHANGE(S) <br />The Applicant is proposing to replace and existing home-made French door unit located <br />in the rear of the house with a Pella Pro -Line Series French Door unit with a light division of <br />two wide and five long. He is also requesting to replace the existing wood garage door with a <br />Thermacore 297 Series, raised panel, insulated steel door. <br />REFERENCE TO GOVERNING STANDARDS: <br />Restoration: Rehabilitation: <br />The Preservation Guidelines for Riverside Drive Local Historic District: <br />b) ... The Guidelines for the Riverside Drive Street Historic District follow the Rehabilitation <br />Model.... <br />II. Existing Structures <br />II. A. Building Materials <br />II.A. Required <br />The existing architectural detail around windows, porches, doors and eaves should be retained <br />or replaced by replicas of the same design and materials when deteriorated beyond repair. <br />II. C. Windows and Doors <br />II.C. Required <br />Original windows and doors including sash, lintels, sills, shutters, decorative glass, pediments, <br />hoods and hardware shall be retained or when deteriorated beyond repair, replaced with units <br />and trim resembling the original. <br />II.C. Recommended <br />If new sash and doors are used, the existing or original materials, design and hardware should <br />be used. <br />II.C. Prohibited <br />Original doors, windows, and hardware shall not be discarded when they can be restored and re- <br />used in place.
