PROPOSED PATIO REPLACEMENT
EAST WAYNE HISTORIC DISTRICT
1121 E. WAYNE NORTH
This project is essentially an' in-kind replacement of a large concrete
patio located on the east side of our home. The patio is not visible
from the street. The primary reason for the replacement is to correct
a drainage problem. The existing patio is sloped to a drain on the
west side of the patio near the house. If this drain becomes clogged,
the water will quickly rise and spill over the basement window wells,
flooding the basement. The new design will slope the patio to the
north so that water will run into the backyard.
As part of the project, we would like to install bands of slate paving
stones that would divide the concrete slab, adding color, scale and
detail to the patio.
In order to gain access to the site, we plan to remove part of the
existing wood stockade style fence and replace it in-kind. This fence
is approx. 20 years old and has termite and weather damage.
Jed and Paula Eide
8/15/98
