MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Members, Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. <br />Joseph County <br />FROM: Adrian, Standards & Maintenance Committee <br />DATE: October 19, 1998 <br />RE: 1998-0904-2, 202 S. Jacob Street <br />Ed and Members of the Standards & Maintenance Committee, including Martha, <br />Catherine, Ron, Janeanne, and Adrian, met on September 30th with property owner <br />William R. Lamie to discuss proposed projects at his residence. <br />The Committee recommends to the Commission to approve in concept <br />(conditional upon more detailed information) proposed rear alterations, including: <br />1) hip roof over garage, <br />2) rear portico with 6 wood, Tuscan style columns, <br />3) replacement of large 3 over 3 window with French doors, and, <br />4) kitchen and garage expansion to be in-line with rear facade. <br />The Committee also recommends in concept the addition of a front portico, <br />however, would propose working further with the applicant to "fine-tune" the <br />details including: <br />1) type, scale and proportions of columns, and, <br />2) profiles and style of entablature and molding details. <br />Submitted by, <br />drian rScottFine <br />Standards & Maintenance Committee <br />
