,CERTIFJCATF,-OF APPRnPRIATRNESS STAFF REPORT <br />STAND <br />Landscapes - Standards and, Criteria for Leeper Park <br />9.7 Furnishings and Objects <br />9.7.4. Alteration of existing of addition of new furnishings and objects will be considered if the <br />alterationdoes not alter the basic concept of the historic landscape design.". <br />9.7.8. New furnishings and objects should be designed using vandal resistant standards. <br />9.7.12. All new monuments and fountains shall be placed so that they conform to and with the <br />original historic landscape design of the park and park system. <br />RF.,COMMENDATION <br />_ The applicant is proposing to install a bronze plaque in the west end of the rose garden to <br />commemorate those who have died as victims of violence. The proposed plaque is 1/2" thick, <br />l' wide, 2' long and sits flush with the ground, thus, making it very inconspicuous. The <br />proposed plaque is compatible with the character of the garden with out detracting from visitors <br />enjoyment of the garden. The Staff finds the proposed plaque's,size, scale and positioning to <br />be within the --guidelines, and thus recommends approval of the application as submitted. <br />
