Mr. Talley stated that a draft of the contract the Commission will extend to the Westerly Group <br />for the resurvey of the County is also at the State office awaiting approval. He further stated <br />that he hopes to have the resurvey under way before Christmas. Mr. Talley reported that Mr. <br />Oxian has had a discussion with Jerry Hartman, a property owner in Edgewater Place Historic <br />District, who has had a severe fire in his building and wishes to rebuild. Mr. Oxian stated that <br />the property in question was the used car lot on Lincolnway East and that the property owner <br />wanted to reconstruct. Mr. Oxian also noted that the owner would more than likely be <br />submitting plans to the Commission in the new year. <br />Mr. Talley stated that he will be meeting with the E. Wayne Street liaison committee on <br />Wednesday, at their request, at which time the staff should be able to deliver to them their new <br />guidelines. He also noted all the problems he is having with the construction project at the <br />North Pump Station, including the fact that the Commission did not see or approve 80% of the <br />actual project.There was some discussion over the contracting of the project and how the Board <br />of Water Works was not incharge of this project. Mr. Talley noted that if things do not change <br />then he will stop the construction because they have violated the Certificate of Appropriateness <br />pertaining to the necessity of the Commission's director meeting with contract winners. He <br />further noted that he has sent a letter to Lou Powell stating that a meeting is required and needs <br />to be set up or the project will be red tagged. <br />VI. Hearing of Visitors <br />Mr. Sporleder stated that there will be another phone status conference for Blake Gardens on <br />November 17 at 11:00am in MACOG conference room. He further noted that the Historic <br />Preservation Commission should contact MACOG to discuss alternative funding through TEA - <br />21 funds. Mr. Talley interjected that he has repeatedly requested such information and is not <br />receiving any cooperation from the director of MACOG in regards to that topic. He further <br />noted Sandy, the director of MACOG, went before the County Commissioners last week <br />complaining about the Historic Preservation Commission office getting painted and that she <br />wants our space. During which the County Commissioner's told her if she could find the <br />Historic Preservation Commission a new home then they will discuss it, until then the answer is <br />no. Mr. Talley further discussed how the MACOG director was feeding miss information to <br />other departments about historically designated property.
