Commission's Local' Landmarks 'Criteriaas <br />adopted, by the Common Council, the buildingt 319 =321. Lincolnway' West <br />- " - has' -been .recommended to the Common Council for designation as a Local, Historic'. <br />..Landmark by,Historic•Preservation Commission. <br />The building,meets the criteria in at least four areas: <br />1.),'Its character,,interest, or value'as part of the development of heritage <br />culture in the City of South. Bend, St. Joseph County, - the Stateof ` <br />Indiana,.or the.United.States of America. <br />2.) Its embodiment' of elements'of architec.'tural design, detail,- materials, or <br />craftsmanship . which represents , an ' architectural characteristicor <br />innovation. } <br />3.) It$ suitability for preservation. <br />The building fulfills criteria #1 by its "association with the Visiting Nurses <br />===; sociation'•which. provided the, City with much' needed affordable health care, <br />=J r over 60 years +.: , <br />-The building fulfills criteria #2, as, one of`the last remaining examples of a <br />Queen Anne rowhouse in the city of South'Bend.
