CERTTFTCATE OF APPROPRTATENESS STAFF REPORT
• The proposed design for
elimination by which the
the commission Staff and
of appearance and ease o
enclosed vestibule struc
construction system as t
features and proportions
structure to which it is
•
•
he vestibule was; submitted after a process of
architect submitted various design alternatives to
the County Engineer for r.omment regarding preferences
construction and maintenance. The proposed glass
tyre is exflcuted with the same materials and
e curtain wall and is so composed as to reflect the
of the central bay temple form fac.adr of the original
accessory.
Although this alteration is not associated with the requirements of safety as
indicated in the standards, Staff recognizes the imperative for anergy
conservation and the maintenance of interior comfort in the building. The
proposed alteration does not immediately affect: the historic: features -of the
building, being exclusively attached to the more modern curtain, wall to which
it is,clearly compatible. Staff therefore recommends approval of this
application.
DBD
1./9,/97
