n."e has received fourteen thousand eight hundred dollars in grant
• funding for this year from the DHPA to enable nominations for three individual
buildings and a local district for placement on the National Register of
Historic Places. Work on these nominations has been undertaken with
considerable progress having been made in their development. The National
Register nomination for the only remaining structure from the Studebaker Wagon
Works has been submitted and is presently in the review stages. Hopefully
these nominations will enable future ISTEA funding and DHPA grants for much
needed capital improvements, maintenance and repair at public facilities and
leverage private investment through the State and Federal investment tax
credit(s) at privately held properties. A similar grant request has been
submitted for the coming DHPA grant cycle and we are hopeful of continuing the
work of so recognizing and benefiting the rehabilitation of historical sites
and structures in St. Joseph County. A summary of the proposed grant projects
is attached. ,
•.l' ,, Yours truly,
David B. Duvall, Director
cc: John Oxian, President
•
•
