f
•
•
•
3. We have been notified by the SHPO the Stephenson Mill has been placed on
the National Register of Historic Places. Our office has duly notified the
owner and public officials of the City and County.
V. Old Business
A. Revision of the BY -Laws.
Mrs. DeRose indicated that having had a first reading at the November meeting,
these may now be adopted. Mr. Talley moved to adopt the amendments to the
By -Laws as submitted by counsel. Mr. Borkowski seconded the motion. The motion
was unanimously approved and two copies of the By -Laws were duly signed by all
members present. One copy is to reside in the commission office. The other
will be maintained in the Legal Department file.
VI. New Business
Mr. Duvall proposed a meeting schedule for the 1996 calender year, noting that
there was a conflict of the usual third Monday with the County holiday in
observance of President's Day in February. The calender was adopted
establishing February 12 as the date of the regular meeting during that month.
VII. Hearing of Visitors
Marcia Stevenson indicated that there was little interest by individuals who
she has contacted regarding the assumption of Liaison activities in Riverside
Drive LHD. Referring back to the issue discussed earlier regarding the
knowledge of property owners of the requirements of districts, she noted that
she believed that approximately a third of properties in the district had
changed ownership since the guidelines were adopted.
Mrs. Choitz suggested revising the regular spring letter to attempt more
comprehensive understanding and participation.
VIII. Announcements & Miscellaneous Matters
1) Mr. Duvall reported for the president of the commission in his absence that
he wished to establish a nomination committee to identify officers for the
coming year. The committee is to be chaired by John Borkowski and also to
include Mr. Talley and Mr. Fine.
2) Mr. Fine announced the upcoming workshops of the Indiana Alliance of
Historic District Commissions in Jeffersonville and Muncie.
3) Mr. Duvall indicated that the prospectus deadline for Indiana Historic
Research Grant fund application is slated for January 17, 1996. Iie suggested
that we maty wish to persue this funding for the brick streets project or
some other topic of interest to commission members.
Mrs. Choitz recalled the tree study and suggested that continuation of that
work might be considered.
IN. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
