NEW BUSINESS (Cont.) <br />d. continued.... <br />the Commission adopted Resolution <br />No. 1478 determining to appropriate <br />monies for the purpose of defraying the <br />expenses of certain local public <br />improvements for the fiscal year beginning <br />January 1, 1997 and ending December 31, <br />1997 including all outstanding claims and <br />obligations, fixing a time when the same <br />shall take effect. <br />Mrs. Kolata asked permission to add <br />items 6.n and 6.o. to the agenda. There <br />were no objections and the items were <br />added to the agenda. <br />e. Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 1480 approving an <br />application for real property tax <br />deduction for property located at 214 <br />W. Jefferson Boulevard. (Phoenix <br />Properties, Inc.) <br />Mike Beitzinger gave the staff report. <br />Phoenix Properties, Inc. proposes to <br />renovate and convert the nearly 6,000 <br />square foot vacant building at 214 W. <br />Jefferson Boulevard (the former location <br />of Barb's Restaurant). The renovations <br />include, new wiring, plumbing, heating, <br />cooling, ventilation, install stairs (as none <br />currently exist), install new elevator (as <br />the current one is nonfunctional), install <br />interior walls, new lighting, paint exterior <br />trim and first floor facade, renovate <br />windows and power /acid wash brick <br />walls.
