South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting - December 6, 1996 <br />5. OLDBUSINESS (Cont.) <br />a. continued.... <br />Consultants/Engineers Inc. for design <br />services in the South Bend Central <br />Development Area. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that this contract is for <br />Walker Parking Consultants/Engineers <br />Inc. to design a parking garage in the <br />block bounded by Jefferson, Main, <br />Washington and Michigan Streets. <br />She stated that this project is in <br />conjunction with the office buildings to be <br />constructed by Trammel Crow and <br />Memorial Health Systems. <br />Mrs. Kolata noted that the contract is for <br />the complete design of the parking <br />garage, underground, aboveground and <br />6,000 sf of retail space that will be along <br />Michigan Street. <br />She stated that the contract has a <br />provision stating that Walker Parking <br />Consultants/Engineers Inc. is not <br />authorized to go beyond $80,000 in cost <br />in 1996. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that the staff would <br />need to return to the Commission to get <br />authorization for Walker Parking <br />Consultants/Engineers Inc. to spend any <br />remaining amount because only $80,000 <br />was appropriated in 1996. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki and <br />seconded by Mr. Hunt, the Commission <br />approved the proposal from Walker <br />H:\ HOME\ CPHIPPS \WPDATA \COMMSN\120696.MIN -4- <br />COMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL FROM <br />WALKER PARKING CONSULTANTS/ENGINEERS <br />INC. FOR DESIGN SERVICES IN THE SOUTH BEND <br />
