4/17/95
RE: Streetlighting on Riverside Drive
From: Message left by Tom Yarger, 916 Riverside Drive on HPC answering machine
Mr. Tom Yarger of 916 Riverside Drive, South Bend is unable to attend the
April 17, 1995 Historic Preservation Commission keeting, but asked if the HPC
staff would convey to the Commissioners his opinion on the streetlight
replacement on Riverside Drive. Mr. Yarger said he understood most of the
proposed replacements would be an asset to the neighborhood, but he had a deep
concern for the streetlight directly in front of his house, the George Cutter
House. He felt as one of the original fixtures made by the George Cutter
Company, this streetlight certainly fit into the Riverside Drive Historic
District and it seemed most appropriate that it should be left in front of the
George Cutter Home. He asked the Commission to consider these issues when
determining the appropriateness of the application to replace streetlights on
Riverside Drive.
CAA
4/17/95
i
