CUSTOM & TREE E1 D ERTS, INC.
JOHN M. DUNCAN - President 2 9 A
NATIONAL ARBORIST ..F. CAN WOE,, C.
ASSOCIATION. INC. 12945 STATE ROAD 23 / GRANGER, INDIANA 46530 / TEL (219) 272 -1900 / FAX: (219) 272 -1793 C NM 111w...O.WS
December 2, 1994
Re: Removal of 2 Oak tree's
Site: 944 Riverside Dr
South Bend, In 46616
To Whom It May Concern:
The two Oak tree's I have proposed removal on at 944 Riverside Dr.,
need to be removed.
The first tree is a Black Oak on the East side of the house. This
tree has lived it's entire life subordinated on all sides by more
dominant tree's. Furthermore, approximately 50% of this trees crown
has broken away on the east side, leaving the rest of the crown over
the house weakly attached to a fractured, hollow trunk. Failure is
inevitable and damage,to the home can be assumed.
The second tree is in the back patio, also in close proximity to the
house. This tree was sentenced to a shortened life when the house
and patio was constructed. The natural terrene was altered. The
grade was raised dramtically on the trunk of the tree, then encircled
by cement, thus slowing the trees ability to function, and causing a
long slow death. This irreversible decline is now extremely apparent.
The hollowing has surpassed the trunk, and is now throughout the main
supporting limb. Property damage can be expected with each limb
failure, or massive destruction to the other trees, landscape and /or
home, should the whole tree fail at once.
The removal of these two trees is a unwelcome loss to all concerned,
but to neglect the need of removal will only cause greater losses.
Sincerely,
Z
David A. Duncan, G
I. S. A.
Certified Arborist
Vice President, Custom & Moore Tree Experts Inc.
