CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS STAFF REPORT
PROPERTY -- 345 South Sunnyside
OWNER -- Paul and Cathy Blum
DESIGNATION -- EWS-LHD
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE HISTORIC CONTEXT
The house at 345 South Sunnyside is a non-contributing structure located in
the East Wayne Street Local Historic District. The 1953 Colonial Revival was
built-_ for Nelson and Virginia Ault. It is a two-story frame building with an
asphalt shingled gable roof and has been altered by the addition of wood
siding.
PROPOSED CHANGE
The owner proposes to install mastic T -Lok solid vinyl soffit panels on eaves
of house and garage.
STANDARDS
II -B.(1) Whenever possible, the original shape and materials of the roof
should be restored.
RECOMMENDATION
The owner represents through a photo from September of 1992 that the soffit
has peeling problems. The staff site visit showed that the work on the soffit
has been completed. The staff recommends that approval of the proposal because
the structure is technically non-contributing and has had substantial earlier
alterations.
Christine Anderson
10-11-94
