mitzc-d Z3, lct'13 <br />The residents of the Riverside Drive Local Historic <br />District (RDLHD) have two goals we wish to achive through <br />this proposal: <br />1. That all street lights in the district <br />have a consistant historical <br />appearance. <br />2. That the overall light level be <br />increased. <br />Tg_Ms are or000sed as follows: <br />1. City of South Bend agrees to replace all <br />non -historic street lighting posts and <br />luminaries along Riverside Drive, between <br />Lafayette Boulevard and Hudson Avenue with <br />Hollowspun Posts and Octogonal Junior <br />luminaries. <br />2. Indiana & Michigan Power Company <br />(I & M) gives to the Historic <br />Preservation Commission of South Bend <br />and St. Joseph County (HPC), the street lighting <br />system as is (per section 21-117.2 of <br />Chapter 21 of the City Zoning Code). <br />3. City of South Bend makes payments to HPC equal <br />to the cost of the electric service in <br />accordance with Tariff SLS. This amount equals <br />21 street lighting units 9 $6.60/month each: <br />or $1,663.20 annually. <br />4. City of South Bend authorizes installation of <br />electrical meters for street lighting circuits, <br />as required, to enable Tariff SLCM to be applied, <br />in lieu of Tariff SLS-. This is expected to <br />result in the following'annual savings: <br />$ 1,663.20 City pays to HPC annually <br />$ 340.00 HPC Pays to. I & M <br />$ 1,323.20 Annual savings <br />5. The annual savings shallbe placed into a <br />non -reverting fund for the RDLHD street <br />lighting system only. Funds from this account <br />shall be used to pay for additional lights, <br />posts, repairs, and reimbursement to the City <br />of South Bend for previous meter installations. <br />6. Liability for the street light system shall be <br />assumed by the City of South Bend. Maintenance <br />of the system shall be in accordance with the <br />
