Approval of Minutes - October 21, 1994 <br />Commissioner Choitz moved the minutes be approved as written. Commissioner <br />Hostetler seconded the motion. The motion Passed unanimously. <br />B. Treasurers Report <br />There was no report from the Treasurer. Mr. Duvall rioted that Treasurer Weiner <br />had received a print out from the auditors office, but had not spoken with him <br />since then. President Oxian reported his request that Staff call Commission <br />members the day of a meeting to make sure there would be a quorum. <br />C. Correspondence <br />Mr. Duvall reported on a national conference held in Chicago March 30 -April 1 <br />called Preserving the Recent Past. He noted it is close at hand and within <br />driving distance for the Commissioners. <br />D. Committee Reports <br />1. Budget & Finance <br />No report. <br />2. Legal <br />President Oxian reported on the Commission meeting held with the Common <br />Council. Commissioner Hostetler, Mr. Duvall, Mrs. DeRose, and President Oxian <br />were in attendance. President Oxian reported that Mrs. DeRose (lid most of the <br />speaking. She spoke mostly of how the Commission operates and the COA process. <br />President expressed he had asked that the Coimnission be allowed to make a <br />presentation before the Council as other Department Heads. Fie said the <br />Commission would be getting an invitation to do that soon. Commissioner <br />Hostetler added she thought the Commission should get something together with <br />slides -and do a nice short presentation. President Oxian noted five Council <br />Members and their attorney were in attendance at the special meeting. <br />President Oxian described how Mrs. DeRose had discussed the Laskowski case and <br />how, now that a precedent was set, more procedures could be established to <br />deal with situations like that. <br />4. Historic Districts <br />Commissioner Choitz reported the Historic Districts Committee was meeting with <br />the Lincolnway West Committee weekly to discuss Standards for the proposed <br />district. She noted Standards would hopefully be done early in the new year. <br />
