_ w <br />CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS STAFF REPORT <br />• PROPERTY -- 209 Hammond Place <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />OWNER -- William Hostetler <br />DESIGNATION -- River Bend Local Historic District <br />STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE/HISTORIC CONTEXT <br />209 Hammond Place is located in the River Bend Local Historic District. The house <br />is a non-contributing (NC) structure. <br />PROPOSED CHANGE <br />The owner proposes the installation of a concrete walkway extension, measuring <br />5' X 7P and 5" in thickness, between the existing sidewalk and the curb. There <br />are no trees or other obstructions present and the proposed installation will not <br />cut the curb. <br />STANDARDS <br />The Standards state B2 "New site work should be appropriate to existing surrounding <br />site elements in scale, type and appearance." <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The HPC staff is in favor of this proposal.
