• -r A. C of A's continued 2. 803 North Notre Dame Avenue; Firehouse #7 Local Landmark Mr. Frederick read the staff report. Mr. Hayden, construction manager for South Bend Heritage made a brief presentation concerning the project. The major points of which were as follows: the bid by HG Roofing for a complete slate replacement was approximately J that of the bid for similar work by Midland Engineering and the bid by HG Roofing was still less than Midland's bid for premium asphalt. Secondly, the HG Roofing bid included the complete repair/replacement of the interior storm gutter system. Thirdly, the proposed change to the overhead door had been withdrawn, instead the door would be repaired, caulked and weather stripped as is. Mr. Hayden then detailed the other aspects of the rehab which consisted of routine maintenance and landscaping. Commissioner Oxian asked if the trees were included in the C of A. Mr. Hayden answered using the photos of the site. Mr. Frederick read the work specs relevant to landscaping. Commissioner Oxian asked about tree replacement. Mr. Hayden replied that two of the trees would be replaced in-kind. Commissioner Sporleder asked about the bid process. Mr. Hayden answered that both contractors bid off of identical job descriptions and that each had made a site visit. Commissioner Eide asked about the total square footage of the roof. Mr. Hayden replied that it was 25 squares (2500 square feet). Commissioner Sporleder asked about the cost of built in gutters from Midland. Mr. Hayden said the cost was approximately 25,000 dollars. Mr. Hayden indicated that he was checking the job references of HG Roofing. Commissioner Choitz moved to approve the C of A. Commissioner Sporleder seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. IV. Regular Business A. Approval of Minutes -October 18, 1993 Commissioner Sporleder moved to approve the minutes as submitted. Commissioner Choitz seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Legal Commissioner Oxian noted that we are awaiting word from Code Enforcement concerning maintenance standards. F. Personel Commissioner Oxian requested that the Personel Committee meet immediately following this meeting.
