Central High School was made a Local <br />Landmark in 1982, the structure has been vacant for approximately ten years. The <br />current proposal put forth by the Alexander Company is appropriate in regard to <br />our standards. The Alexander Company has a justly deserved national reputation <br />for sensitive rehabilitations carried out in accordance with the Secretary of the <br />Interior's Guidelines. This project is integral to the restoration not only of <br />the building in question but also to vibrancy of South Bend's downtown area. <br />C.
