•
CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS STAFF REPORT
PROPERTY -- 1315 East Wayne North
South Bend, IN 46628
OWNER -- Nancy and George Denusis
DESIGNATION -- East Wayne Street LHD
STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE/HISTORIC CONTEXT
The residence at 1315 East Wayne Street was constructed in 1926 and is a
good example of Renaissance Revival architecture. It was rated as
Contributing (C/9) on the Indiana Historic Sites and Structures Inventory.
PROPOSED CHANGE
Install four foot (4') aluminum fence (Jerith-brand, style 4202); to run
•from west side of house (near northwest corner) thirteen feet (13') to
west, then six feet (6') to north to connect with neighbor's fence.
STANDARDS
District standards require (I -A-1) that "...fencing... be compatible with
the character of the neighborhood in size, scale, material and color."
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the HPC approve this proposal as submitted. The
proposal fulfills district standards and would introduce fencing that is
appropriate to the architectural detailing of the house.
F. Holycross
4-12-93
•
