The staff recommends that any approved proposal <br />regarding siding require that the existing roof and window trim <br />be retained and restored. Fitting the building with vinyl <br />siding, given the building's altered character and context, is in <br />keeping with the staff's interpretation of the Edgewater Place <br />Historic District standards. However, the optimum preservation <br />plan for the building would be to remove the existing synthetic <br />siding and restore the original clapboard. <br />Proposal 4: <br />This proposal is in keeping with the applicable standards (II.C). <br />- James V.
