This American Foursquare residence is rated C/10 on <br />the Indiana Historic Sites and Structures Inventory and was built <br />in 1910. The current owner is Dr. Mike Keen, a 01-ofessor of <br />Sociology at I.U.S.B. <br />PJR.QPOSF D CHAN( ( <br />The construction of a 18' X 20' garage at the rear of the <br />property with access from the alley. The walls are to be of 4" <br />overlapping cedar clapboards, and the roof is to be hipped with a <br />6" eave overhang and asphalt shingles as the sheathing material. <br />As part of this project an existing 6' dogeared fence with 3" <br />slats will be removed and two new sections of similar fencing <br />will be installed on either side of the new garage. <br />STANDARDS. <br />Presently there are no district standards in place for the River <br />Bend Local Historic District. The district was only recently <br />designated and standards are currently being developed. Dr. <br />Keen, however, would like to complete the C of A process as a <br />good faith measure. <br />RECOMMENDAT_I.ONS. <br />The staff recommends that the HPC approve this proposal. The <br />proposed garage is compatible in size, form, and materials with <br />other existing and historic outbuildings in the neighborhood, and <br />the proposed fencing will match that of the existing in <br />dimensions and materials. <br />A.
