MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING <br />OF THE <br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />March 16, 1992 County Conference Room <br />7:30 p.m. 7th Floor, County /City Building <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members Present: Mr. Herb Herendeen, Mr. John Oxian-- <br />President, Mrs. Martha Choitz, Mrs. Jean Dennen, <br />Mrs. Janeanne Petrass, Mrs. Joanne Sporleder, Mr. Fred <br />Holycross -- Director, Mr. James Pastor -- Administrative <br />Assistant, Mrs. Aladean DeRose - -City Attorney, Suzanne <br />Booker -- Architectural Surveyor. <br />Members Absent: Mr. Bill Welsheimer, Mr. Jed Eide. <br />Also Present: Ms. Barbara Steele-- Southhold <br />Restorations, Mr. Kevin Boughal- -South Bend Tribune, <br />Mr. Joseph MacHatton - -621 Lincolnway East, Mr. Tom <br />Selsor - -12 70 S.R. 23, Mr. Tom Haas - -South Bend District <br />Golf Association. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificates of Appropriateness <br />1. 1315 East Wayne N. - -East Wayne LHD <br />Mr. Pastor asked that item be postponed <br />until later in the meeting since the owner had <br />not appeared, and other petitioners were <br />waiting. <br />2. 621 Lincolnway East -- Edgewater LHD <br />Mr. Pastor reported that the owner, Mr. <br />MacHatton, wished to convert the first floor of <br />this house to office space, while retaining <br />rental units on the second floor. He passed <br />around Polaroids of the existing property. The <br />proposal had been broken down into four parts: <br />a. Reduce the size of one southeast window and <br />install a 1/1 wood double -hung sash to match the <br />rest of the openings on that facade. <br />Mr. Oxian stopped Mr. Pastor from reading the <br />1 <br />
