South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting - September 20, 1996
6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont.)
f. continued....
is a lot owned by the company that owns
Tippecanoe Place, that is for
Tippecanoe's employees. There are
parking spaces in this lot and they are
operated by Lawson & Fisher which
owns the property west of that. There
are a number of parking spaces located
on that block and some spaces are
available for rent. The staff tried finding
out what the availability of parking is and
the rental rate. However, we have not
heard back from Dan Lawson yet.
The staff recommends accepting the
proposal of Lex Investment. They feel
as though this would enable the lot to be
completed in a short time and it would
have just one curb cut. The staff will
work with Dennis Emery to help his
tenants find parking spaces in other lots
on a monthly basis. Also the staff would
suggest, if Lex Investment Inc. has extra
parking spaces, they might also consider
renting out spaces to Dennis Emery's
tenants if someone would want to rent a
parking space on a montly basis.
Dennis Emery stated that Lex Investment,
Inc. are attorneys who are using their
office as attorneys, apparently have an
investment company which may be for tax
purposes. He stated that Lex Investment,
Inc. also has a big parking lot behind their
building which they use for auto repair
which he took pictures of, taken
yesterday.
0
-18-
