At the request of some of the Commission members, Mrs. Dixon stated that she would provide a written explanation and graphs showing the sources and amounts of revenues. 3. Legal Ms. DeRose reported that she is in the process of reviewing information on maintenance standards provided her by Mr. Oxian and Mr. Pastor. 4. Historic Districts The Commission discussed the potential boundaries of the district. The Staff mentioned that Todd Zeiger of Historic Landmarks Foundation and a resident of 'the.neighborhood, suggested a larger _district than the one originally pro- posed-. When asked Mr. Zeiger's motives, Mrs. Dixon reported that there was a great deal of.poor quality redevelopment work being performed or stated to be done, in that area. The Commission discussed the potential to get involved in "new design" review were. the area declared a district. The Commission requested that.two seperate maps be drawn - one indicating the original proposed boundary and one depicting the proposed larger boundary area.. These maps are to be mailed to members prior to the next meeting. The Commission 'discussed the '.iintent of the Near Northwest Neighborhood (as reported in the South Bend Tribune) to make the area bounded by Lincolnway West, William, Portage, California and Harrison Streets, a local Historic District- No action was taken at that time. 5. Historic Landmarks a. Colfax Theatre The HPC Staff -reported, that the City is considering the demolition of the Colfax Theatre. After some discussion of the matter, Mr..Welsheimer moved that a committee be established to look into the matter further; Mr. Newburn seconded; motion approved.
