MINUTES OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION Fourth Floor Conference Room County Council Caucus Room (411) 17 June 1991 i County/City Building 7:30 p.m. I. Call to Order The meeting was called.to order at 7:40 p.m. II.. Roll Call Members Present: Mr. John Oxian, Mr. Bill Welsheimer, Mrs. Janeanne Petrass, Mrs. Martha Choitz, Mr. Jed Eide, Mrs. Jean Dennen, Mr. Odell Newburn, Mr. Herb Herendeen, Ms. Aladean DeRose - City Attorney, Mrs. Lori Dixon - Director, Mr. Jim Pastor - Survey Manager, Mrs. Tina Comer - Secretary. Members Absent: Mrs. Joann Sporleder III. Public Hearing A. West Washington Historic District Mrs. Dixon presented the nomination for a boundary increase to the West Washington National Register District. She stated that,.in response to her notification of the public officials, the mayor replied that, while the City does not object to the nomination, they requested that the issue be tabled until a member of the HPC Staff could meet with members of the Neighborhood Organization. Mrs. Dixon suggested that the Commission might approve the nomination pending the public meeting. Mr. Newburn moved to approve the nomination with the stipulation that Mrs. Dixon meet with the Neighborhood Organization at the earliest convenience; Mr. Herendeen seconded; motion approved. B. Certificates of Appropriateness 1. 1224 Lincolnway East Mr. Pastor presented a proposal by the owner to install (1) shadow box cedar fencing at different points throughout the property, (2) a concrete apron at the driveway with roll curbing.. A proposal to re -excavate the center of the drive slab to plant grass was also submitted. Mr. Herendeen made a motion to approve the submitted proposal; Mr. Newburn seconded;_ motion approved.
