HPC BIMONTHLY REPORT <br />JUNE 1991 <br />* A city ordinance declaring 609 Portage Avenue a local historic <br />landmark passed in July. <br />* A county ordinance declaring the Cripe/Witter Cemetery a local <br />historic landmark passed in August. <br />* After talking with and meeting with city officials in <br />Mishawaka, the proposed ordinance to declare the WPA House on <br />Ireland trail_a local_histor_ic landmaTA<--was_r_epealed- <br />• Phase U of the city resurvey is complete. Maps, lists, and <br />surveys of significant properties in the project area were sent <br />to the state office. <br />* Preparation of budgetary information. <br />* First draft of the West Washington Extention/National Register <br />Nomination completed and sent; the work was returned for <br />revisions which are currently in progress. <br />• Updating of historic districts brochure. <br />* Research underway on the Rohrer Cemetery. <br />* Tina Comer resigned from the secretarial position. <br />• Suzanne Booker did not renew her contract as an Architectural <br />Surveyor. <br />* Local Conservation District status reviewed and discussed with <br />residents for northeastern corner of the Chapin Park National <br />Register District. <br />• Review of the Monroe Park Area potential for Local Historic <br />District status. <br />
