Environmental Review <br />in carrying out federal requirements under the Programmatic Agreement, <br />the HFC staff -reviewed ---the agendas of the Area_Plan_Comission and the <br />Department of Code Enforcement in order to determine if any National <br />Register or locally designated properties would be impacted by the two <br />agencies' actions. In addition, the staff reviewed applications for <br />Section 106 and Section 312 HUD loan programs. Approximately 25 of <br />the 60 applications were for contributing buildings within the City of <br />South Bend. <br />Conferences, Meetincis, and Appointments <br />The Commission members and staff perticipated in various conferences <br />to keep abreast of current preservation legislation, procedures, and <br />techniques in order to better serve St. Joseph County residents. They <br />included: <br />-Hometown Indiana Grant Meeting - Lynette Jentoft-Nilsen <br />-HLFI Quarterly Regional Meeting (Huntington) - Lynette Jentoft-Nilsen <br />-State Review Board Meeting - Lynette Jentoft-Nilsen, <br />-HLFI Quarterly Regional Meeting (Winona Lake) - Lori Dixon, Elaine <br />Fountain, and Martha Choitz <br />-Entertainment District Study - Elaine Fountain <br />-Indiana Main Street Conference - Lori Dixon <br />-DHPA National Register Workshop - Lori Dixon <br />-State Review Board Meeting (1990-91 grants) - Lori Dixon <br />Other <br />-Consulting landscape services were provided by David Barncord <br />-Mr. Oxian worked with I&M on historic streetlights <br />-The staff wrote letters to South Bend realtors to update their <br />listings of local landmarks and historic districts. <br />
