The Near Northwest Neighborhood Inc. hereby submits
a proposal of acquisition for the above equipment.
The Near Northwest Neighborhood Inc. (NNN) is a leading neighbor-
hood organization serving approximately 2000 households in South
Bend. Acquiring a computer system will greatly assist the NNN
in serving the people within its boundaries.
The NNN plans the following uses for the computer:
1. Membership Records
The computer will allow the membership records to be stored
on a spreadsheet. With a spreadsheet organization scheme,
membership can be recorded alphabetically, by one of the 15
districts, date of membership, etc. Print outs of members
by district can be given to the District Representatives,
membership renewal can be completed on a timely basis, and
information about the members is easily accessible.
2. Matching Grant Funds
For the past 2 years the NNN has was been awarded $1500.00
grant from Neighborhood Reinvestment. The first year the
a survey was conducted within our boundaries. A membership
drive and the continuation of the survey is planned for
this year. The computer can be used for matching grant
funding to support future activities such as these. Also,
it can be use to graphically illustrate the results of the
survey.
3. Treasurer Records
A spread sheet program or financial program will be used to
help the NNN to categorically track income and expenditures
thereby establishing a working budget.
4. Recording of Minutes
A word processor will be used to accurately and consistently
record the minutes of each meeting.
