STAFF REPORT <br />553 & 549 River Ave. <br />South Bend, IN 46618 <br />PROPOSAL <br />The owners of these two properties propose to construct a 6' <br />privacy fence between their two garages along the alley. The <br />materials used will be 6" wolmanized lumber, squared off at the <br />top. <br />STANDARDS <br />Recommended: <br />New site work should be based upon actual knowledge of _the past <br />appearance of the property found in photographs, drawings and <br />newspapers. New site work should also be appropriate to existing <br />surrounding site elements in scale, type and appearance. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />The staff recommends that the property owners be permitted to <br />construct the fence, upon meeting all requirements of the <br />building department. The majority of the property owners in that <br />area of the district have privacy fences along the alleyway, so <br />such a fence would be in keeping with similar elements in the <br />distric. <br />
