C7 • The Division's Fall Workshop will include a number of diverse topics, ranging from updates from the National Register section to current guidance to federal subgrantees from the National Park Service. Our morning session will begin with an introduction by the new director of the DHPA, Dr. James Glass. For many professionals, this will be your first opportunity to meet Dr. Glass and hear his views on the role of the division. The National Register section of the Division will present an update on the findings of the Round III National Park Service Program Audit conducted in April of 1990 and how the audit will affect the Division's National Register policy. Current issues with nominations will also be discussed. Many preservation consultants serve as contractors on projects being funded with DHPA grants. In such cases, bidding and contracting methods must meet state and federal standards. The Grants section will provide information on these rules and suggestions on formulating proposals and writing contracts. The afternoon session will be a special orientation session for registrants who have not previously attended a DHPA National Register workshop. It will acquaint them with the DHPA National Register Policy as well as instruct them on general National Register polices and procedures. Professionals who wish to be included or maintain their standing on the DHPA list of Qualified Professionals are reminded that they must attend a DHPA National Register Workshop at least once very 18 months. If you plan to attend this workshop, please fill out the attached form and return it to the DHPA no later than October 31, 1990. There is no registration fee. However, a donation of $5 for the morning session or $10 for the morning and afternoon sessions is requested to cover workshop expenses.
