Kiemnec, Director <br />SUBJECT: John Dugger's Presentation at Historic Preservation Commission Meeting <br />DATE: November 10, 1986 <br />We invite you to join us on November 17, 1986, when John Dugger will be a guest and <br />speaker at the Historic Preservation Commission meeting. Mr. Dugger has been awarded <br />an Indiana Heritage Research Grant from the Governor's Hoosier Heritage Foundation to <br />research Indiana sculptor, Rudolph Schwarz. The sculptor was responsible for the <br />War and Peace sculptural groups on the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monuments includ- <br />ing the ones in Indianapolis, South Bend and five other Hoosier communities. Once <br />• the research has been completed, Mr. Dugger will do a National Register application <br />for the seven monuments. <br />John Dugger, the Project Director, is the Properties Manager for Historic Landmarks <br />Foundation of Indiana. He was also the consultant who did the restoration of 'the: <br />Little Liberty statue in front of the St. Joseph County Courthouse. ..He:is:com.ing.to <br />South Bend to explain his project and to research the St. Joseph County Soldier/Sailor <br />Monument. He will make a brief presentation and answer questions at the Historic <br />Preservation Commission November 17 meeting, which is held at 7:30 p.m. in the 3rd <br />floor conference room of the County/City Building. Please notify the Commission <br />office at 284-9798 if you intend to come. <br />0 <br />
