Building Site and Landscaping - Required <br />Existing plants, trees, fencing, walkways, streetlights, signs and benches <br />which reflect the property's history and development shall be retained. <br />2. Plant materials and trees in close proximity to the building that are causing <br />deterioration to the building's historic fabric should be removed. <br />is 3. No changes may be made to the appearance of the site by removing old plants, <br />trees, fencing, walkways, outbuildings, and other elements before evaluating <br />their importance to the property's history and development. <br />Recommendation: <br />Mr. Barncord, the Commission's consultant on landscape architecture, inspected the <br />site and indicated that the catalpa is an "undesirable" tree because of its messiness <br />and that it is crowding the red maple in front of it. i recommend allowing the <br />owner to remove the catalpa tree. <br />KLK/1'1/10/86 OL -1 <br />
