He was too proud to ask for <br />help from his old friend, Karl Bitter from Austria, who was more <br />financially successful as a sculptor. <br />Rudolph Schwarz was 46 when he died of an asthmatic condition. <br />When Mr. Dugger finishes his research,, he intends to do a National <br />Register nomination for the seven monuments. <br />b. Programs for 1987 <br />Mrs. Sporleder reminded the Commission to review any ideas the;• <br />may have regarding the planning of the programs for 1987 and to <br />present them at the December commission meeting. <br />C. Nominating Committee Project <br />Mrs. Sporleder appointed Mr. Nimtz chairman for the nominating <br />committee. Mr. Hayes and Mr. Oxian volunteered to serve on the <br />nominating committee. <br />d. 1987 Appointments <br />Ms. Kiemnec announced that the Common Council appointees to the <br />HPC, Mr. Herendeen and Mrs. Petrass, terms are up on January 23, <br />1987 and that Mrs. Choitz's term as a County Commissioner's <br />appointee is up on January 10, 1987. Mrs. Sporleder reminded the <br />Commission members to submit their resumes if they were interested <br />in being reappointed. ' <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported to the Commission that in conversation with <br />Mr. Alan'Goebes of the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation, <br />he stated that Certified Local Government regulations indicate <br />that the appointing bodies attempt to appoint various <br />professionals to the Commission including people in the fields of <br />archaeology, architecture, architectural history, history, and <br />preservation planning. <br />Ms.. Kiemnec reported that in her conversation with Mr. Goebes, she <br />suggested that when there is a vacancy, i.e. when someone does not <br />wish to serve again, that an attempt be made to fill the position <br />with those types of professions. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors <br />No report <br />10. Announcements & Miscellaneous Matters <br />Ms. Kiemnec announced that Mr. Nimtz has been appointed to the Indiana <br />State Professional Review Board. <br />• Mr. Nimtz made a motion to adjourn; Mr. Oxian seconded.
