The event will take place in front <br />of 1007 Riverside Drive, near the intersection of that street with California and Leland <br />Avenues. The 1890 Queen Anne style house, one of the oldest in the district, was <br />and members of preservation organizations will be with us to dedicate this, the fourth <br />local historic district in South Bend. <br />The Riverside district which includes all buildings facing Riverside Drive from <br />Angela Blvd. to Lafayette Street is an excellent example of a cohesive early twentieth <br />century suburban neighborhood. Architectural styles represented include Queen Anne, <br />Period Revival, American Foursquare, Bungalow, and Prairie designed by local architectural <br />firms such as Austin (also lived in the neighborhood) & Shambleau, Ernest Young, and <br />W. W. Schneider. The homes have been consistently well-maintained over the years <br />indicating the residents' pride in their neighborhood. <br />The Dedication will also be the occasion for the Historic Preservation Com- <br />mission to present to the neighborhood its just -published standards.
