The trees are not the cause of the collapsing;.front brick <br />piers on the front porch, because there are no signs of up -rooting problems* ;)'.The trees <br />are causing some deterioration of the two upper .porch roofs and balustrades. . Pine needles <br />when mixed with rainwater give off chemicals which will cause damage to the metal roofing <br />materials. Also the needles are forming piles on the roof which are retaining moisture <br />that is causing damage to the roof materials and balustrade. The house is also blocked <br />out of any daylight sun which slows up the drying time of standing water. <br />Sincerely, <br />David Gibney <br />Preservation Consultant <br />Staff Recommendation: Although the tress are significant and healthy, <br />recommends, based on the information provided by David Gibney, that we <br />of them.
