Kiemnec al"
DATE: January 16, 1986
SUBJECT: Fourth Annual Mayor's Conference on Historic Preservation
The conference committee has met to begin planning this year's Mayor's Conference.
We are proposing that it be held on Tuesday, May 13 and entitled: GOOD
DESIGN IS GOOD BUSINESS, Design Ideas for Commercial Districts. The conference
will deal with successful revitalization of downtown and neighborhood commercial
areas through use of the Main Street concepts and good design guidelines.
Possible speakers will include the project director of the Indiana Main Street
Program, an architect who has prepared graphically illustrated design standards
for several communities and local architects and developers. We will forward
a draft of the program agenda as soon as it is available. Thank you and please
call my office if you have any questions or suggestions.
cc: Jon Hunt, Executive Director
Department of Economic Development
U
