Staff Report <br />1) N e w Secretary <br />Ms. Kiemnec introduced Elaine Fountain, the new secretary for <br />• the Commission. <br />. <br />2 Report on Osceola Town Board Meeting <br />Ms. . K i emnec reported that she was asked to speak to ( i. he TownBoard in r'egar'd to the protection of the Moran House. The <br />short term solution recommended to and accepted by the Tot:':tn <br />L <br />B a.rd was to attach stipulation i Fut a't i inn to any purchase agreement t .t i_'i <br />donate a. facade easement on the building. The Town Board <br />directed their attorney, Steven Esl i nger, to contact the <br />i_:iomm i si on' = attorney, Kevin Butler, to prepare a proposal for <br />Osceola to come under the Commission'sjurisdiction. T h e <br />matter was assigned tip the Lega.l Committee. <br />. Old Business <br />a. Protection of trees <br />P's. Kiemnec reported the response to the letter that was sent to <br />the Area Plan Commission regarding the protection of trees by <br />developers. Richard Johnson, director of the t'-'tr•ea Plan <br />Commission, responded that under their subdivision ordinance if <br />the developer meets the standards the Plan Commission must approve <br />the subdivision. The general guidelines of their ordinance state <br />that the developer should respect the natural resource's.. Mr. <br />Johnson also c=ommented that he felt it is not the developer that <br />•destroys the trees, but it is the person to whom the property i <br />later sold. <br />AUGUST 1S, 1?86 PAGE <br />
