Ms. Kiemnec stated that a report on the St. Louis Midwest <br />• Preservation Conference was mailed to each Commission member with <br />the March minutes; Mrs. Choitz indicated that she had also been <br />present at that conference. <br />• <br />8. New Business <br />a. Madison Street <br />Mrs. Petrass mentioned that she has been asked if there was <br />anything that could be done to help eliminate the problem at the <br />Madison Center Blood Plasma parking lot. It was agreed that there <br />is nothing that the Historic Preservation Commission can do to <br />help the neighborhood since it is not an historic district. <br />b. Country Bake Shop (U.S. 31 North) <br />Mr. Oxian reported that the bake shop which is a landmark has <br />violated the landmark standards regarding signs. Mrs. Sporleder <br />requested that Ms. Kiemnec send a letter to the owners requesting <br />that they remove the signs. <br />C. Edgewater Drive Standards <br />Ms. Kiemnec inquired as to whether there had been any progress on <br />reviewing the Edgewater Standards. Mrs. Choitz as District <br />Committee Chairperson will check into the matter. <br />9. Hearing of Visitors <br />No Report <br />10. Announcements & Miscellaneous Matters <br />There will be a slide tape presentation at 7:10 on rural preservation <br />before the next monthly meeting of the Historic Preservation <br />Commission. This presentation will cover how to do a survey, discuss <br />special problems associated with rural areas, and how to preserve <br />these areas.
