7. Old Business <br />a) Fredrickson House <br />Ms. Kiemnec reported that she had a copy of the Inspection Report <br />from the Department of Code Enforcement. She further indicated <br />that Mr. Braasch, the Trust Officer from the 1st Sourch Bank for <br />the Estate, called the office shortly after the last Commission <br />meeting requesting names of contractors familiar with historic <br />buildings. She gave him names and suggested that he have <br />specifications drawn up which could then be reviewed by the <br />Commission staff and Mrs. Sporleder. 11r. Braasch has 50 days to <br />comply with the Code Enforcement's order (approximately June 5). <br />b. Lighting in Historic Districts <br />Pair. Oxian suggested that a letter be written to the electric <br />company indicating that they must store all historic light <br />fixtures that they take down so the fixtures can be used in <br />historic districts to replace damaged ones. The Commission agreed <br />that the matter should be investigated by the staff to find <br />solutions to the problem. Ms. Kiemnec will check with Fort Wayne <br />who is also serviced by I & tAi to see how they solved the problem <br />• and she will check to see if there are historic streetlights in <br />areas that are not districts or where owners are not concerned <br />about having them removed. <br />c. Computer Project <br />hits. Kiemnec reported that she had submitted a grant application to <br />the Michiana Arts and Sciences Council for funding for the <br />computer. She will not hear about the results for about three <br />weeks. <br />8. New Business <br />a. Fort Wayne Vlorkshop for Historic District Commissions <br />Pis. Kiemnec reported that the workshop went very well, 35 people <br />attended representing 8 communities. She indicated that the event <br />was attended by Mrs. SporIoder, Mrs. Choitz, Mr. Newburn, PIrs. <br />Eugenia Schwartz, Ms. Straw and herself. The topics included a <br />discussion of the history of commissions, procedures, standards, <br />and setting up a historic district. <br />b. Pfayor's Conference <br />C7 <br />W <br />
